About these names

Chișinău has five administrative sectors (Centru, Buiucani, Botanica, Râșcani, Ciocana); almost all first-visit interest is in Centru. Street numbering and ward names matter less here than in some capitals — taxi drivers and apps work from the street name and number.

Chișinău's first-visit centre is a flat rectangle either side of Ștefan cel Mare boulevard: Cathedral Park and the government quarter at the north-west end, the Central Market a short walk south-east, the wooded lake park at Valea Morilor a taxi ride south. Almost everything a 2–4 night visit needs sits inside this area; the rest of the city is residential Soviet-era housing blocks, not sights.
