Give Chandler one night as a Route 132 stop: beaches and the Pabos history site in a half-day, then push on to Percé or Gaspé.
Chandler is a service town on the south shore of the Gaspé Peninsula, built around a pulp mill that closed in 1999. It is a village-rélais: a small place with more beds, fuel and food than its size suggests, useful when you are driving Route 132. The draws are the beaches west of downtown and the 18th-century Pabos site; the town itself is spread out and you need a car.
