Çerkezköy
Skip as a sightseeing stop: Çerkezköy is an industrial town with no old core. Come only for business, or as a rail/bus break on the Istanbul–Edirne line.
Çerkezköy is the nucleus of a fast-growing industrial conurbation in the Thracian plain, 110 km west of Istanbul and about 10 km from the edge of Istanbul's metropolitan boundary. Its Ottoman past was destroyed in the Balkan Wars and built over by factories and apartment blocks, so there is nothing here a normal trip needs to see. It does have hotels, supermarkets and a main-line railway station, which makes it useful for a night if you are working here or catching an early train west.
