Central Province is the hill country: Kandy's temple and lake, tea estates around Nuwara Eliya, and the highland parks. The province is small on the map but slow on the road — a 90 km hop can take 3–4 hours by bus. Pick two bases, not four. Sigiriya and Dambulla sit outside the province in the Cultural Triangle; Ella is in Uva, further along the hill line.
