Central Bohemia wraps around Prague, so almost every sight here is under an hour by train from the capital. Sleeping in Prague is cheaper than it sounds and gives you more evening options; sleep outside only if you want Kutná Hora or Karlštejn without the day-trippers. Trains beat cars: the network is dense and Prague's integrated PID tickets cover most of it.
