Central Assam is the heart of Assam's tea country and the gateway to Kaziranga National Park. The region is flat, laced with the Brahmaputra and its tributaries, and best explored from a single base — Nagaon for Kaziranga access, or Guwahati for flights and connections. Roads are slow; allow 2–3 hours between towns.
