Central Anatolia is Turkey's high plateau: Ankara for museums and the Hittite and Phrygian sites around it, Konya and Kayseri for Seljuk stonework, Cappadocia for the rock valleys and underground cities. The YHT high-speed rail links Eskişehir, Ankara, Konya and Sivas, so you can sleep in one city and reach most of the region by train. Distances between the outer sights are long and the landscape is monotonous — pick two bases, not five.
