Cananéia
One full day and one night in Cananéia: morning at the colonial core and the 1577 church, afternoon at a waterfall (Cachoeira do Encanto or Rio das Minas), sunset by the estuary.
Cananéia, on the south coast of São Paulo state, is a quiet colonial town with a 16th-century church, well-preserved 18th- and 19th-century houses, and several waterfalls in the surrounding Atlantic Forest. It works as a slow stop between Santos and Iguape, or as a day trip from the coast. Most visitors stay one night.
