Boston Bar
Stop for 2–4 hours on the Trans-Canada, or sleep one night if you want the Hell's Gate tram and a rafting morning. Not a base for more.
Boston Bar is a village of about 190 people on the Fraser Canyon stretch of Highway 1, roughly 3 hours from Vancouver and 45 minutes north of Hope. It exists for travellers as a break in the drive: a gondola over the canyon, a Nlaka'pamux heritage village, a historic suspension bridge, and rafting on the Nahatlatch. Two or three hours covers the village; one night covers the canyon properly.

You need a car. The village is a strip on Highway 1 and the sights are 5–22 km apart. No local bus.
