MQP is the region's airport, about 25 km north-east of Mbombela and roughly 45–60 minutes from Belfast by car depending on the route and traffic through town. Flights come in from Johannesburg and Cape Town, mostly on Airlink and similar regional carriers; schedules are thin and change seasonally, so check before booking a tight connection.
At the airport you will find the usual rental desks and a small taxi and shuttle presence. Nothing is metered in the city sense, so agree a price before you get in, or better, have your accommodation send a driver. If you land late, pre-book: walk-up options shrink after the last flight.
