Bridgetown is the capital and the UNESCO-listed historic centre, but most visitors sleep on the west or south coast. It works as a short stop of one or two mornings: the centre is flat and small, the beaches at Carlisle Bay are a short ride away, and buses and taxis run from the terminals north of the Careenage.
