Asir is Saudi Arabia's highland south: juniper slopes, stone villages and 20 °C summer days while Riyadh and Jeddah run past 40 °C. Fly into Abha, sleep there, and use it as the base for Al Soudah, Rijal Almaa and the Tuesday market. The coast at Jizan is a separate, hotter trip — pair it only between November and March. The Yemen border is close: stay 80 km back from it.
