Anglesey is a 714 km² island joined to the Welsh mainland by two bridges, so it works as a base rather than a stop. Holyhead is the ferry port for Dublin and the rail terminus; the A55 crosses the island fast, while the A5025 (north) and A4080 (south) are the slow scenic loops. A car turns the island into a 30-minute-radius day-trip machine; without one you are tied to bus timetables and the main towns. Two nights covers Beaumaris, South Stack and one beach day; three nights adds Newborough and the coast path.

Anglesey plus Snowdonia plus Lleyn in three days is mostly driving; pick one side of the Menai Strait.

Anglesey coast: Mild, wet and windy; the island is exposed, so sea fog and gusts can cancel a cliff walk. July–August is warmest and busiest; May–June and September give the same light with fewer cars.

School holidays (late July to early August) and bank-holiday weekends fill island cottages and beach car parks; book beds and ferry crossings weeks ahead for those dates.
