Alagoinhas
Half a day is enough: see the Ruins of the Unfinished Church and the old railway station, then move on. Use it as a lunch stop between Salvador and the interior.
Alagoinhas is a mid-sized city in Bahia Interior, 1 h 40 min from Salvador by car. Its main draws are the half-built Igreja Velha, a preserved English-style railway station and a brewery tour. Most travellers use it as a brief stop or a base for exploring the region.
