Voykit pocket guide · Saudi Arabia
Abha
2–3 nights in summer (May–Sep) for green mountains, cable cars and stone villages; a day trip is too short for the Asir highlands.
Abha is the capital of Asir province and Saudi Arabia's cool-weather escape, sitting at about 2,200 m. Its terraced mountains, foggy mornings and traditional stone villages make it a summer alternative to the Gulf heat. Most visitors fly in from Riyadh or Jeddah and spend 2–3 nights visiting the cable car, Rijal Almaa and the surrounding peaks.
