Zurich, Ontario is a small Huron County settlement, not the Swiss city. A single day is enough to walk the main street, look at the older storefronts and churches, and take in the flat farmland and river valley that surround it. Park once and cover the core on foot.

Spend the middle of the day on the main street and the residential blocks behind it, then drive a short loop into the surrounding countryside for the fields, barns and roadside stands that define this part of Ontario. If the weather is good, add an hour at a local conservation area or riverside spot.

Eat in town or a short drive away; options are limited and hours can be short, so check before you rely on a specific kitchen. This is a place to slow down rather than tick off sights.

The second day is where rural Huron County pays off. Use the morning for a longer drive: side roads, farm gates, small crossroads hamlets and the kind of landscape that looks best in low sun. Bring water and snacks, because services thin out quickly.

In the afternoon, pick one anchor: a beach or conservation area on Lake Huron if you are willing to drive west, or a heritage village or market town closer in. Summer weekends fill up, so arrive before midday for parking.

Book accommodation early for July and August. Small motels and B&Bs in the area have few rooms, and the nearest larger choice is in a bigger centre about an hour away.

With a third day, use Zurich as a base and drive out. London, Ontario is the regional city for museums, shopping and a wider restaurant choice. Stratford, Ontario is the theatre town, with a walkable core and a river. Both are roughly an hour away by car, which makes either a comfortable day trip.

Pick one, not both, unless you are happy to spend most of the day driving. London suits a rainy day or a city fix; Stratford suits a summer evening show, which means booking tickets well ahead and staying late or overnight.

If you are continuing across the province, Zurich sits in southwestern Ontario, within reach of the Toronto–Windsor corridor. Plan the next leg with the national getting-around guide rather than assuming frequent local transit.

Zurich itself is cheap to visit: walking the town and driving the back roads cost nothing beyond fuel. The real spend is food, accommodation and any paid attraction or theatre ticket. Prices below are 2026 estimates and should be treated as a shape, not a quote.

Drive. Rural Huron County has thin transit, and the places worth seeing on days two and three are not walkable from the settlement. Fill the tank before you leave town, because stations are sparse on the side roads.

Check hours before you commit. Small museums, stands and kitchens in this part of Ontario keep short and sometimes seasonal hours, and a Tuesday can look very different from a Saturday. Phone or check online the day before.
