Zruč nad Sázavou
Go for one night or a half-day stop: castle, doll museum and a river path. Two nights only if you cycle or walk the Sázava valley.
Zruč nad Sázavou is a small Central Bohemian town on the Sázava river, about 75 km southeast of Prague. Its single cluster of sights sits inside one castle: guided tours, a doll and teddy-bear museum, a shoemaking museum and a knight-themed trail in the moat. Trains from Prague need a change, so most travellers come by car or as a stop between Prague and Kutná Hora. Plan one night, or a half day if you are passing.
