Zirakpur
Zirakpur is a transit hub, not a destination: half a day for the zoo, or a night near the airport before flying out of Chandigarh.
Zirakpur sits at the junction of three highways just before Chandigarh, making it a practical stop for travellers arriving by road or air. The main draw is the Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park (Chhatbir Zoo). Most people use it as a sleep-over near the airport or a quick lunch break on the Delhi–Shimla route.
