Zielona Góra
Stay one night, two if you want the wine festival or a vineyard walk: the old town is small, and most sights sit within a 20-minute walk.
Zielona Góra is the capital of Lubuskie and Poland's wine capital, with vineyards on the hills inside the city and a compact old town around a 15th-century town hall. It is a stop on the Berlin–Wrocław corridor rather than a first-trip destination: one night covers the centre, two add the Palm House, the Wine Park and a vineyard walk. Costs are low by Polish big-city standards.

Get around
The centre is walkable: old town, Wine Park, Palm House and the station all sit within about 25 minutes on foot. City buses cover the rest; validate your ticket on board. Taxis are cheap and easy to find — use a company cab with a roof number rather than an unmarked car.
