Zhujiajian Island
One night or a long day-trip from Ningbo: the beaches are the best in the Yangtze River delta, but the island has little else. Go for a beach day, skip if you want culture or hiking.
Zhujiajian Island is the beach destination of Zhejiang, with two wide, clean beaches (Nansha and Dongsha) set in coves. The island also hosts the Zhoushan airport and is the ferry gateway to Putuoshan. Most visitors come for a single beach day or an overnight stay; the rest of the island is quiet and undeveloped.
