Zhongmu is Zhengzhou's leisure belt, not a sightseeing town. Metro Line 8 and the Zhengkai intercity rail put its big-ticket draws — the Land of Dramas theatre complex, Haichang Ocean Park, Fantawild, the Greening Expo Park — within about an hour of central Zhengzhou. Most travellers come for one long day; two days only pays off if you are combining a theme park with an evening performance.

- Air quality can be poor on still winter days; check the daily index if you are sensitive.
Low street-crime risk; the real problems are traffic, long unlit stretches between attractions at night, and heat in July–August. Keep your passport with you — hotels and some ticket desks ask for it.
