One night; choose Saturday if you want Sunday plaza life. Without a car, treat Zamora as a stop between Guadalajara and Morelia, not a base.
Zamora is a working agricultural city of about 155,000 in the Tziróndaro Valley, known across Mexico for strawberries, dairy and the milk sweet chongos zamoranos. Its draw is a big colonial plaza, Mexico's tallest cathedral, and a Sunday market-and-food scene rather than a sight list. Two nights is the ceiling; most travellers pass through on the Guadalajara–Morelia corridor.
