Stop only if you are crossing to or from Ukraine at Chop: 2–3 hours on foot, or one night if your onward train leaves at dawn.
Záhony is a small border town on the Tisza in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, and its whole reason to exist for a traveller is the crossing to Chop in Ukraine and the rail junction behind it. There is no hotel in town, no local bus and no taxi rank, so a stop means a guesthouse in Mándok or a night in Nyíregyháza. Come for the border, the riverside and one meal, not for a holiday.
