Give Yuzhou one full day for the Jun-kiln museum and Shenhou old town, or skip it if you are not into porcelain: it is a 30–40 min high-speed hop from Zhengzhou.
Yuzhou is a county-level city in central Henan, about 30–40 minutes from Zhengzhou by high-speed rail, and the historic home of Jun porcelain. The old town of Shenhou and the Jun Royal Kiln Site Museum carry the visit; the rest of the city is a working county town with cheap taxis and a walkable old core inside the moat. It works as a day trip from Zhengzhou or one night on a Central Henan loop.

Get around
Taxis, minibuses and three-wheeled carts are cheap and plentiful; the old centre inside the moat is walkable. Buses 1–29 cover most sights; Shenhou needs bus 23 or 29. Dahongzhai and Zhangliang Cave are car-only.
