Yeniseysk is a small historic town on the Yenisey River, one of the first Russian settlements in Siberia. Its main draw is the Cathedral of the Assumption (Siberian Baroque) and the Monastery of the Transfiguration. Most visitors come from Krasnoyarsk (about 6 hours by bus) and spend a few hours walking the old streets. The town has a population around 3,000 and very limited accommodation.
