Yendi
Spend 1–2 days in Yendi to see the palace, historic tree and market; travel from Tamale (45 min) or Accra (13 h bus).
Yendi is the capital of the Yendi Municipal district in Ghana's Northern Region. It sits 91 km east of Tamale and 433 km from Accra. The town offers a few cultural sites – the Gbewaa (Yaa Naa) Palace, a 19th‑century German cemetery and the giant baobab Naa Dataa Tua – plus a central market and modest accommodation. With limited attractions, a short stay of one to two days is sufficient, especially if you are already in the north.
