The honest verdict

Nauru has one ring road, one airport and a few hotels, so there is no route to optimise and no app to lean on: the trip is the flight day, the visa and how you get from the runway to your bed. Four small areas cover a first visit by hotel car; the mined interior (Topside) needs a local guide and is a separate half day.

Money and SIM

Budget day: A$40–70 (≈ US$30–50) excl. bed
Paying: Cash (Australian dollars) is safest; a few hotels take cards but machines and links fail. Carry small notes.
Cash: Bring enough Australian dollars in cash for the whole stay in small notes; ATMs are few and can be empty.
SIM: Mobile service is limited and roaming rarely works: ask your hotel about a local SIM; install offline maps before you fly.
