Xieng Kok
Skip unless you need the Myanmar border crossing or want a remote Mekong stop: half a day is enough, and the road from Muang Sing is rough.
Xieng Kok is a tiny Mekong village in Luang Namtha Province, notable only for the Laos–Myanmar Friendship Bridge opened in 2015. Heavy road construction and basic infrastructure make it a pass-through for overland border crossers or dirt-bike riders, not a destination. Most travellers give it a quick look and move on.
