Wujie is a coastal township in Yilan County, about 40,000 people, next to Luodong. The draw is the National Center for Traditional Arts on the Dongshan River, plus the Erjie Rice Barn and a cluster of small temples a few minutes apart. Sights sit within about 2 km, so half a day covers them; most travellers sleep in Luodong and come over by taxi.

Get around
No useful local bus for visitors: take the TRA train to Luodong, then a taxi about 10 min into Wujie. Once in town the sights are walkable, but taxis are the practical way between the arts centre, Erjie and the Lize temples.
