Wroxham and Hoveton
Base here one or two nights for the Broads: hire a day boat from Hoveton, walk the two towns in an hour, and use the Bittern Line for Norwich or Cromer.
Wroxham and Hoveton are twin villages split by the River Bure, the practical hub of the Norfolk Broads. Hoveton holds most marinas, boatyards and shops; Wroxham holds the postcard view from the bridge. Two nights is enough to hire a boat, ride the Bure Valley Railway and see the broads, and the Bittern Line links both to Norwich and the coast.

- Mobile signal is 4G and patchy on O2; 5G has not reached the area.
Very low crime; the real risks are water (currents, cold, alcohol) and narrow roads with no pavement. Wear a life jacket on hire boats and keep to the bank on foot.
