Westford

Skip Westford as a base unless you ski Nashoba or need a cheap I-495 bed: it is a suburb, 1 day at most, and a car is required.

Westford is a town of about 25,000 in the Merrimack Valley, roughly 35 minutes north of Boston by car on I-495 and Route 3. It has no walkable centre worth a trip: the draws are Nashoba Valley Ski Area, The Butterfly Place and Kimball's Farm, all spread along highways. Come for a half-day or use it as a cheaper bed for Lowell and Boston.
