Weinheim is a small Bergstraße town 15 km north of Heidelberg, on one of Germany's warmest slopes. The Altstadt is flat and walkable from the station; the draw is the climb to the Windeck and Wachenburg ruins and the beer garden in the Windeck courtyard. Trains and the RNV 5 tram make it an easy add-on to a Heidelberg or Mannheim base.
