Waterville Valley
Go for 2 nights if you ski, hike or want a car-free resort village; skip it as a base for the whole White Mountains.
Waterville Valley is a small resort town inside the White Mountains, built around one pedestrian village and one ski mountain. Almost everything sits within a 10-minute walk of Town Square, so you park once and move on foot, by bike or on the free trolley. Two nights covers the resort; add nights only if you use it as a hiking base.
