Get around
A car is the practical choice: I-84 runs east–west, Route 8 north–south, and sights such as Quassy are outside the centre. Downtown itself is walkable in 10–15 minutes. Metro-North's Waterbury branch runs south to Bridgeport, where you change for Grand Central; the local bus system runs from the Green into the late evening (check the current timetable).
