Wabamun

Wabamun is a village of about 650–700 people on the north shore of Lake Wabamun, 67 km west of Edmonton on Highway 16. It is the Edmonton region's main recreational lake: a provincial park, a boat launch and pier, sailing clubs, golf, and a summer cabin community. Most visitors come for a single day; anglers and sailors stay a night or two.

A car is the practical choice: the village is small but the park, golf courses and sailing clubs are 3–25 km (1.9–16 mi) apart and there is no local transit.
