Vizianagaram
Vizianagaram is a half-day stop between Visakhapatnam and Araku Valley: see the fort and temple, then move on. One night only if you are breaking a train journey.
Vizianagaram is a small city 40 km north of Visakhapatnam, known for its 18th-century fort, the Sri Rama Temple and a relaxed pace. Most travellers use it as a lunch stop or a quick detour on the way to Araku Valley or Srikakulam. The city has no major airport and limited accommodation, so plan for a few hours, not a base.
