The Oceanfront and Boardwalk are walkable and bikeable; surreys and bike rentals line Atlantic Avenue. Hampton Roads Transit runs buses and a seasonal trolley along the strip; bus fare is $2.00 per ride. For anything beyond the beach — First Landing, Back Bay, Town Center — a car is the practical option, and traffic is heavy in peak season.
