Vils in Tirol
Vils
Use Vils as a quiet base for Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles: one or two nights, not a destination on its own.
Vils is a small Tyrolean town 10 km from Reutte and 5 km from the German border. Its main draw is proximity to the fairy-tale castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau near Füssen, plus hiking and cycling in the surrounding Alps. Most visitors stay one or two nights as a cheaper, quieter alternative to Füssen.
