Get around
Everything in the centre is on foot: Grand-Rue runs from the bridge to the castle path in about 15 minutes uphill. The chairlift (télésiège) covers the steep part for a few euros, and a small tourist train runs in summer from near the bridge up to the castle. Buses stop at the station on the edge of town.

- Many restaurants close early or shut entirely outside the main season; check before a late dinner.
- The castle and museum keep shorter hours from November to February; confirm before travelling.
Vianden is a low-risk town; the real hazards are the steep, uneven castle path, summer motorbike traffic on the N17 and slippery riverside stones. Emergency numbers are 112 and 113.
