- A stroller is fine in the square and Borgo but not in the Museums queue or the dome; fold it or use a carrier.
- The Museums are long for small children: pick the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel and stop, or do the square and Castel Sant'Angelo instead.
- The dome climb has narrow stairs; it is not suitable for young children or anyone who dislikes tight spaces.
