Bars in Valletta serve until about 00:00–01:00 on weekdays and later on Friday and Saturday; the late clubs are in Paceville (St Julian’s), not in Valletta. The legal drinking age is 17 and ID may be asked. Strait Street has a few bars and live-music venues, and after closing only taxis and a few 24-hour shops stay open.
