Vaihingen an der Enz
Skip unless you have a specific interest in the concentration camp memorial or Schloss Kaltenstein; otherwise use as a 2–3 hour stop on a Stuttgart Region day trip.
Vaihingen an der Enz is a small town in the Stuttgart Region with a medieval castle (Schloss Kaltenstein) and a former concentration camp memorial. Most travellers pass through on the ICE line between Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. The town itself is compact and walkable, with a few restaurants and a hotel. It does not justify a dedicated trip unless you are visiting the memorial or combining it with nearby Ludwigsburg or Sindelfingen.
