Ures
One night is enough: arrive by car from Hermosillo (52 km, about 75 min), walk the plaza and museum, eat seafood, leave before dark.
Ures is a small Pueblo Mágico in the Sonora Sierra, about 4,000 people, 420 m up on the Río Sonora and the southern end of the Ruta Río Sonora. It was Sonora's capital three times in the 19th century. There is one plaza, one church, one small museum and a handful of seafood places. It works as a half-day or one-night stop from Hermosillo, not a destination on its own.

Get around
The centre is flat and walkable: plaza, church, museum and most eateries sit within a few blocks. A taxi sitio is in front of the church for outlying hotels. Without a car you are limited to the town itself.
