Upenekang
Half a day: see Ibeno Beach, eat fresh fish, then move on. Not a base — Uyo or Eket are better for an overnight stay.
Upenekang is a fishing town on the Kwa Ibo River in Akwa Ibom State, best known for Ibeno Beach, Nigeria's longest beach at about 45 km. The town itself is small and quiet; the main draw is the beach and the fresh seafood. Most travellers visit as a day trip from Uyo or Eket, spending a few hours on the sand and eating grilled fish before heading back.
