Uda
宇陀市
A half-day stop for Muroji Temple and the castle ruins, not a base. One night only if you want a quiet onsen stay or to hike the Muro Art Forest.
Uda is a small city in eastern Nara Prefecture, known for the five‑storey pagoda of Muroji Temple, the National Treasure main hall of Utamikumari Shrine, and the ruins of Uda Matsuyama Castle. The city is quiet and rural, with limited dining and no nightlife. Most visitors come on a day trip from Nara or Osaka, or combine it with Asuka and Yoshino.
