Tysons is a Northern Virginia business district built around two malls and a Metro line, 30–40 min from downtown Washington by train. It has almost no historic core: the draw is shopping, hotel value and easy parking. Most travellers use it as a cheaper bed outside DC or a half-day mall trip, not as a destination in itself.

Get around
The Silver Line runs through Tysons with several stations, so you can reach downtown DC without a car. Inside Tysons, blocks are long and crossings are wide: walking works between the malls and nearby hotels, but a car or rideshare is faster for anything off Leesburg Pike. Capital Bikeshare docks are in the district. Parking at the malls is free.
