Turkmenabat is a border and transit town on the Amu Darya; one night at most, if it fits your transit.

Turkmenabat is Turkmenistan's second-largest city, in the east near the Uzbek border. It is mainly a transit stop, with a bazaar and a large Amu Darya bridge. Independent travel is restricted; visas and guided arrangements are normally required.
