Tufanganj
Tufanganj is a half-day stop for Koch dynasty ruins, not a base. One night if you want to see both Chilarair forts and the town market.
Tufanganj, a small town in Cooch Behar district, holds two 16th-century forts linked to the Koch dynasty — Chilarair Kot and Chilarair Bara Kot. The ruins are modest but historically significant, and the town itself is quiet. Most travellers use it as a short stop between Cooch Behar and Assam.
