Trois-Pistoles
Stay one night, or use the seasonal ferry to Les Escoumins: the town itself fills half a day, the ferry crossing is the reason to stop.
Trois-Pistoles is a 3,500-person town on the south shore of the St. Lawrence. It is a ferry terminal for the north shore and a summer base for a French-immersion program that nearly doubles the population. Without the ferry or a language course, plan a short stopover: a church, a small museum, a brewery and a coastal trail. Orléans Express runs a Québec City–Rimouski route with a Trois-Pistoles stop; check the timetable for the current trip time.

Get around
The village centre is compact and walkable; the church, cafés and brewery sit within a few blocks of each other. Route 132 and the ferry terminal are outside the core, so without a car use a taxi or arrange a lift (distances check). Orléans Express buses stop at the Petro-Canada on rue Richard, not at the ferry dock.
