Trevelin
Half a day to one full day: the Welsh museum and a tea house, then a short hike or the tulip fields if it's October. Not a base — sleep in Esquel.
Trevelin is a small Welsh-Argentine town 20 km south of Esquel, in the Patagonian Andes. Its main draw is the Museo Histórico Regional (Welsh settlement history) and the tulip fields that bloom from early October to early November. Most visitors stop for a few hours on the way to or from Esquel, or combine it with a short hike in the Percy River valley. The town has a handful of tea houses and craft shops, but no major sights beyond the museum and the flowers.
